Tour a land that will amaze you with its stark beauty and delight you

Ladakh, the enchanting and mysterious part of Jammu and Kashmir for long has captured the imagination of Discoverer. But now, Ladakh has waved its magic on tourists and adventurers as well. Brimming with options for adventures and sightseeing tours of monasteries and Buddhist temples, Ladakh is slowly cementing its place as world's best tourist spot. Situated on the western end of the majestic Himalayas, Ladakh is home to four major mountain ranges: the Great Himalayan, Zanskar, Ladakh, and Karakoram.

This maze of enormously high snow capped peaks is home to the largest glaciers outside the polar region. Passes tower up to 20,000 ft. (6,000m) and in every direction peaks soar above 25000 ft. (7,500m) guarding lofty valleys that range in elevation from a mere 8,000 ft. (2,400m) to 15,000 ft. (4,500m). The most attractive feature of the landscape of Ladakh are the Buddhist monasteries situated on isolated hillocks in the vicinity of villages, these aesthetically pleasing, architecturally interesting monasteries provide the focus for the faith of the highly religious Buddhist people.

Monasteries have a wealth of artifacts, Lamayuru, the oldest religious centre of Ladakh, beats all other in sheer grandeur. In its uniqueness of wood carving, statues and frescoes, Alchi offers the highest rewards. The wealth of its possession and its annual summer festival make Hemis the most popular, while Thiksay rates high in terms of architectural impact and the beauty of the festival performances at Likir and Phyang with their proximity to Leh are great attractions in their favour while the accessibility of the Shey and Spituk monasteries make them suitable for visits where time is at a premium.
